Dreams and Aircrafts

A little boy raptly gazing at the billowing smoke at the tail end of a jet would dream of flying the monstrous metal bird someday. He would picture himself all grown up, dressed in the whites of a pilot, with an aircraft headset on and talking to the control tower before a take off. Or he could be fascinated with the plane itself and picture himself in blue coveralls, under the belly of the plane and carrying a box of aviation tools. Either way, knowledge of the different aircraft parts is a must in the fulfillment of that dream.

No one can miss the huge body of the aircraft. It is called the fuselage. This is where the passengers and cargo are housed. The cockpit is the control and the command part of an aircraft where the pilot sits. The wings, the engines and in some aircrafts-the propellers are the aircraft parts that produces the lift that makes the plane fly.

The vertical and horizontal stabilizers are the aircrafts parts used to control the movement of the aircraft. These parts are found at the tail end of the aircraft. Flaps and slats are the parts that produces additional force to effect touch downs and take offs.
